ROIR has been putting out music - at first only on cassette - for over 30 years. Thank God they invented the CD! And ROIR really have reached out internationally over all those years. So on tonight's show, as it turns out, we played tracks from 3 ROIR records - one by Canada's own Twilight Circus, one by Dr. Israel outta Brooklyn, and one by Alpha & Omega, the great British roots reggae duo.

And one of my prized possessions is a cassette tape from 1980 called 21st Century Dub by Japanese percussionist Pecker and an assortment of reggae's greatest musicians, assembled for Mr. Pecker by his friend Bob Marley. It still plays in the 21st century (I think). Go, ROIR, go!
